Our client is seeking a remote-based Co-Product & Ingredient Trader to expand their presence in key livestock markets and grow volume across cottonseed, DDGs, corn gluten, and other feed co-products. This role focuses on regional growth and requires strong supplier and end-user relationships.
Responsibilities
- Individually trade your co-product book (cottonseed, cotton hulls, cotton meal, DDGs, corn gluten feed/meal, wheat midds, rice bran, etc.)
- Ideal candidate brings book of business in livestock-dense regions including Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida
- Develop relationships new with feed mills, livestock yards, and suppliers
- Identify niche opportunities and underserved markets for volume and margin growth
- Negotiate freight, logistics, pricing, and contract terms
- Monitor regional supply, crop conditions, and transportation markets
- Operate independently with an entrepreneurial, margin-focused mindset
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Economics, Animal Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience trading feed ingredients or co-products
- Relationships with feed mills or livestock operations in key regions
- Strong negotiation ability and understanding of feed-market fundamentals
- Ability to build and maintain a book of business with limited oversight
- Excellent communication and commercial relationship-building skills
