Our client is seeking an experienced leader to coordinate and manage their food manufacturing facility's regulatory compliance, food safety strategies, and laboratory testing operations. This professional will supervise an internal technical team, manage specialized certification programs, and ensure all output satisfies strict government, customer, and third-party organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, identify workplace hazards, and ensure compliance with plant guidelines
- Manage food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, SQF, and third-party certification frameworks
- Lead customer complaint investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Conduct internal audits, maintain compliance documentation, and handle regulatory training for plant personnel
- Oversee laboratory staff performance, analytical testing protocols, and daily lab operations
- Coordinate Identity Preserved (IP) and Non-GMO project requirements, serving as the backup for key quality roles
- Work comfortably in an industrial manufacturing environment with loud machinery, heights, and varying weather conditions
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology or Chemistry
- Five years' experience in a food safety manufacturing environment
- Industry certifications including PCQI for human and animal food, HACCP, and SQF Practitioner
- Formal training in root cause analysis and implementing food safety systems
- Thorough knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations for food and feed operations
- Familiarity with third-party verification programs like Non-GMO Project and Identity Preserved (IP)
