Our client is seeking an experienced grain merchandising professional to lead strategic producer relationships while driving cash market strategy and trade execution. This role oversees comprehensive marketing advisory, trade placement, and client growth initiatives while offering great income upside based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead full-service grain marketing advisory for strategic producer clients including plan development, hedge recommendations, cash trade execution, and logistics oversight
- Maintain consistent communication with clients to review strategy, market positioning, and execution results
- Identify and secure new strategic relationships by pursuing leads and representing the firm in various professional settings
- Monitor fundamental, seasonal, and technical market indicators to help shape overall market outlook and hedge strategy
- Execute physical, futures, or options transactions when aligned with market conditions and client objectives
- Support broader farm marketing, trading, and logistics efforts as needed
- Operate primarily during standard weekday business hours with additional time commitment as market conditions require
- Participate in occasional offsite meetings or industry events as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, agricultural economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum three years of direct experience in cash grain merchandising
- Active Series 3 license or ability to secure licensure
- Working knowledge of cash grain trading, futures and options, and risk management principles
- Demonstrated accountability and ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Strong ability to explain marketing strategies clearly to producer clients
- High level of analytical ability with strong data accuracy
- Ten or more years of merchandising experience with direct exposure to farming operations preferred
